Village Tavern, BGC

One traffic-less Sunday, I met up with my sister and brother in law in BGC for lunch. Since she had a meeting in the area, we decided to have lunch in Village Tavern. They are under the Bistro club group, which I have a discount card for, but I haven’t tried this restaurant yet. They only have this one branch in BGC.

They have quite a selection of dishes and I went through the menu for about 6-8 times, I’m guessing, since I couldn’t decide what to get. Good thing they serve free chips and salsa to help alleviate your hunger while you’re busy perusing the menu.

Free chips & salsa — which they refill, yay! 🙂

While waiting for my sister, I decided to order soup and salad. Their soup of the day was French Onion Soup. I also had a bottomless Iced Tea which I loved. It wasn’t the usual powdered iced tea that you get in other restaurants.

Because there was so much to choose from, we decided to get the Classic Southern Platter. One order has 4 pieces Monterey Chicken, 1kg Texan Ribs, 2 pieces Crispy Chicken Tacos, & Habana Mexican-Style Grilled Corn. Worth it if you want to get bank for your buck since it will definitely leave you full. The ribs were so soft, the bones were practically falling off on their own. The chicken was a teeny tiny bit dry for me, but seasoned well nonetheless. The star for me was the Chicken Tacos! This is on the menu ala carte so will definitely order this next time by itself.

My brother in law was starving, I think, because he still ordered a burger and a Watermelon Cooler even if we already had the platter. He had the Cowboy Burger — wagyu beef, cheddar cheese with caramelized onions, barbecue sauce, and served with french fries.

We had leftovers which I gladly had wrapped for Mr. A to enjoy at home. He wasn’t able to join us since he played golf that morning. Will visit Village Tavern again soon, for sure, to try the many other dishes that they have. Having a discount card is a plus, of course.
