The PigPen, Eton Towers

“Saan tayo kakain?” this infamous question that we ask every.single.day during lunch time at work. And the more famous answer, “Ikaw? Kahit ano ako.” It can get frustrating sometimes but we just laugh it off and still have a hard time deciding where to eat. Good thing there’s another option that opened near the office. We wanted to check it out right away but it’s not an everyday kind of lunch place price-wise so we waited for payday before trying them out, hehe. 😛

There are a lot of options to choose from and since it’s just me and my good friend, we couldn’t order that much. Will definitely go back to try more.

Here’s their full menu for reference of the many different food you can choose from. They have rice bowls/toppings, sandwiches, viands that are for sharing (same viands with the rice bowls). They also serve brunch for almost the whole day (7AM to 5PM).

We ordered an item off the bar bites list and we were surprised with the serving size. You will really get your money’s worth with it.

Truffle Fries (Php 200) — Poutine style, French fries & onion rings smothered with gravy & cheese sauce

I took the longest time to choose what to order. I wanted to try one of the chicken dishes but I already had chicken 2 days in a row, so I decided to get pork. My friend chose the classic Mac & Cheese.

Mac & Cheese (Php 280) — Home-made childhood favourite, Pigpen style.

I only had a forkful of the mac & cheese and the crunchy and gooey texture was really good. My friend though had to ask for pepper for a bit more oomph. But it was still good overall.

Pork Belly Kimchi (Php 280) — Slow-cooked, juicy slices of pork belly with a side of flavourful kimchi

The pork had the perfect crispy skin, fat, & tender meat layers. It was flavourful and melts in your mouth. It could do without the onion strings and maybe add a few more pickles. The kimchi did not have much heat which was just perfect for me so I was able to finish it.

We had a good lunch and came out very satisfied. We’re already planning our next visit and already have a few dishes in mind we want to try out.
